My name is Stephanie. I'm 19 years old. I have a complicated life.
I live in Aurora, Colorado but was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Yes I am a Cheese Head. My family is scattered. My mom and brother live in Aurora, my uncle and his family in Denver, my grandma in Vegas with my twin uncles, and all of my dad's side is still in Wisconsin. I don't have a great relationship with my father, never really knew him, don't think it matters to him either. My mom and I get along great now that I don't live with her anymore, and my brother is exactly the way I was at his age.
Right now I live with my fiance, Greg and his daughter McKenzie. McKenzie is going to be 2 in March. Greg has custody of her, but she has visits with her mother Monday night to Wednesday night. This is highly stressful on McKenzie, but until she can speak up and tell us what she wants we have to deal.
I graduated from Eaglecrest in 2007 after 2 crazy years there. After moving to Colorado my junior year, I made some interesting friends and fell in the wrong crowd. I skipped a lot, smoked, did drugs, became a cutter and almost flunked out. I cleaned up my act during my senior year and made it through. After graduating I went to Colorado Tech for an associates in Criminal Justice, but didn't last long. The classes were small, and I liked that, but the average age group I was in was 35. That made me uncomfortable, so I stopped going. Now I am paying back student loans for classes I didn't take.
I miss school and want to go back but not for Criminal Justice. I think I want to be an Algebra teacher for High Schools. That would be fun, keep my mind busy, and I could help kids like myself.
Right now I am working full time at Dressbarn, typically 40 hours a week. My one year anniversary is coming up on January 22nd. I started as a part time sales associate, and worked my way up to full time Assistant Manager. I love the girls I work with. We have a great team built up. My job can be pretty hectic depending on whats going on but usually its pretty laid back. I like being a Manager and working at my own pace, being responsible for my department and putting my ideas and organizational skills to work.
I spend a lot of time online and hopefully I have found something that will be helpful to me in keeping my sanity. I like to write my thoughts and feelings down, helps me to keep them straight.
That's all for now. Stay tuned for some interesting posts. Never know what's gonna happen next.

Wow, Steph, I had no idea you've been through all that. I'm so glad your life is coming together and you're happy.
ReplyDeleteTeaching is a blast and I'm sure you'll be a great teacher if you have the passion for seeing people succeed. It's a great feeling when the light goes on and they get it!
You're fun to work with and a great gal. Take care and I'll see you soon...
